Saturday night's alright

was staying at the concorde hotel, kl for the past week, yup, right above Hard Rock Cafe. 4 years ago, i would have partied all night everynight.

so when a couple of days ago, a friend suggested that we watch the band playing there, it evoked a sense of nostalgia of happier times partying.... ha ha...and there are many, many such time. the waiters knew us, as we would be the ones staying till closing time. we were such good regular clients tee hee....

so i was quite excited about going in there that night. anyway, we walked in and the first thing that hit me was the NOISE, the HEAT and then the SMELL - choking smell of cigarettes. these are the usual trappings of a club but instead of welcoming me like an old friend, i was immediately repulsed.... the thought of going into the dark corners of the place just made me want to gag and so we tried to look for a table outdoors. but there was a mini-construction going on and i didn't feel like breathing the dusty air. so out we went, and sought refuge in the (relatively) cool, clearer environment, i'm embarrassed to admit, at the Crossroads.

OMG. i am getting older.

so that's the end of partying for me! oh well, in any case, i've done enough of it to last a few lifetimes....
