It’s been a while since I’ve had some ‘ME’ time, regular readers of my blog would know by now that I need some ‘ME’ time every once in a while...with ‘ME’ time consisting mainly of spending some time alone in a quiet place, not doing anything but just staring out of the window...no, not really...usually there’s FOOD and SHOPPING in the picture as well...heh heh

So last Sunday was designated as ‘ME’ day, woke up really late, cleaned the house i.e. put toys back into toy basket (the kids slept over) and washed my solitary coffee mug. Ho hum...what do I do now? Took a quick shower, debated over what to wear and settled on jeans and t-shirt (not very imaginative I know), slipped on my adidas and went out.

Drove mindlessly out of my apartment compound, not really sure where to head...found myself driving towards KLCC. Oh yeah...ZARA! Saw a classic trench which I thought would be purr-fect for my Aussie trip next week!

KLCC on Sunday is crowded and...urgh...I hate crowds...don’t people have anywhere else to go? I reckon it’s ok for singletons, like yours truly, to spend Sundays in a shopping mall. But families? Go have a picnic, to the zoo, the park or whatever? You know the kinda things you can’t do solo? Ok maybe not the park, it’s nice to sit in a park bench with a good book, but things like picnics and the zoo is best done with company.

Hang on....am I bemoaning my single state? Hmm....

Anyway, walked around Isetan, bought a pair of black pants in a size smaller than the one I tried (YAY! Now THAT made my day, actually). Debated whether I should get another pair, decided not to...hmm...walked around some more before I told myself, quit delaying the inevitable...and took my butt to Zara. I was assailed by thoughts of...yeah u were in the birthplace of Zara in sunny Spain and bought NOTHING and now u’re in this store contemplating spending LOADSAMONEY...?

Went straight to the racks where THE TRENCH was, yeah it’s still there...hanging somewhat stiffly, like it’s all ready for me....ha ha M.Blood, no pun intended...silently screaming "BUY ME! BUY ME! I’ll be so good to u! I'll always be ready when u need me!" The salesman from yesterday recognised me and gave me an ‘encouraging’ smile. Yeah, u salespeople are all the same aren’t u? Sheesh!

I stared longingly at the coat, it’s shiny black texture like satin, caressing my eyes...and a thought popped into my head. This coat would be perfect with those black pants I just bought, coupled with those colourful sweaters at the back of the store, u know, the ones which are on sale. Hmm.....especially the dark red one, the zippered turtle neck cardi.

Then this nice petite lady came over...and the rest as they say, is credit card history. SIGH....damage? A short black double breasted trench coat, a red zippered woolen turtleneck cardi and a dark brown boat neck rayon sweater.... and I still need SHOES!

Flushed from my relative success at snapping up good buys I celebrated by buying come M&S biscuits...resisted temptation from buying yet more matching underwear (memories of my most recent binge are still painful on the pocket)...and got out of KLCC pronto.

Was driving out when hunger pangs struck. It’s way past 3pm and haven’t ate all day (shopping is good like that). Hmm....what shall it be? Drove through the busy part of town, just so I could make a quick turn to whatever catches my fancy. It’s sometimes nice not to have A PLAN. I found myself driving home, and the thought of my somewhat empty fridge forced me to drive past my apartment complex. I soon found myself driving out of town! Remembered that there’s a Burger King on the highway towards Karak (yeah, I know I'm crazy) and thought it’s been awhile since I had a whopper and the works!

Yeah so I had a Whopper, with fries, onion rings and proper sugary soda. Plopped myself on the comfy PVC booth, put my feet up on the opposite bench, ate my fill of fast food, watching MTV. Aaa......this is ME time....
